CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL

By its nature, chamber music, often described as the "music of friends" for its ability to encourage musical conversation between ensemble members, has a special way of honing and expanding  a musician's skills. EBMF is delighted to support youth exploring this form of musical expression with its Chamber Music Festival, inaugurated in 2018. This venue is an opportunity for young musicians to experience the excitement and pleasure of chamber music, as both performers and as audience members. If you'd like to play chamber music but first need to find like-minded musicians, we can help you! Check out our new Ensemble Matching Service.

New in 2026!
We are pleased to announce that we will be adding a Master Class to the 2026 Chamber Music Festival to enrich students' learning experience! Participating ensembles will get an additional chance to perform onstage, and receive live feedback from a professional musician in our community. Gain inspiration for your own performance by listening to your peers play and receive feedback. This year's master class teacher will be pianist Dr. Samantha Cho, Professor of Piano Pedagogy at SFCM.
Any groups applying for the Chamber Music Festival are eligible to apply to perform in the Master Class as well - we highly encourage it! When filling out your application, just check the box that you'd like to be considered for the Master Class. Please note that for groups that are selected there will be an additional participation fee. The online application opens November 1st.
